Yoga Teachers’ Union

I am an active member of the Yoga Teachers’ Union (YTU), a branch of the Independent Workers of Great Britain (IWGB).

I have been a yoga student since 1978 and a teacher since 1984. I also support and mentor yoga other teachers. Over the years I have become increasingly concerned about the forms of exploitation which affect yoga students and teachers. As a lone person it’s difficult to have much impact, so I was really excited when the YTU formed, especially because we are affiliated to the IWGB. Campaigning for fair pay and conditions for all workers is very important to me.
